Exploring Authentic Learning Ecologies for Semiotic Innovation using Interplanetary File System

Potential Abstract:
In recent years, there has been growing interest in leveraging innovative technologies to foster authentic learning experiences in educational settings. This study aims to explore the potential of the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) as a platform for creating authentic learning ecologies that promote semiotic innovation. Authentic learning, characterized by real-world connections, meaningful tasks, and collaborative problem-solving, has been shown to enhance student engagement and knowledge retention. Semiotic innovation, on the other hand, refers to the creative and dynamic use of signs and symbols to construct new meaning and understanding.

To investigate this intersection, an interdisciplinary research approach was employed, combining insights from artificial intelligence and education. A mixed-methods design was used, involving both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques. The research was conducted in a secondary school setting, where a group of students and teachers participated in a series of authentic learning activities facilitated by the IPFS platform.

The findings of this study shed light on the ways in which the IPFS can support the creation of authentic learning ecologies that foster semiotic innovation. The platform’s decentralized architecture, content addressability, and distributed file storage system enable students to engage in collaborative knowledge creation and sharing in a secure and transparent manner. Moreover, the IPFS’s peer-to-peer communication capabilities facilitate real-time collaboration and feedback, promoting active engagement and deeper understanding among learners.

This study contributes to the emerging field of educational technology by exploring the potential of the IPFS to transform traditional educational practices and promote authentic learning experiences. By leveraging the power of decentralized technologies and semiotic innovation, educators can create dynamic and engaging learning environments that prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
