Potential Abstract:
This article investigates the representation of racism in educational websites through a Derridean lens, employing genre analysis with a focus on Creative Commons licensing. Drawing on Derrida’s deconstructive approach to language and power dynamics, we critically examine how racism is perpetuated and challenged in online educational materials. The study delves into the ways in which websites construct and reproduce racial hierarchies, as well as how they may subvert or disrupt these structures. By applying genre analysis, we explore the conventions and discursive practices that shape the presentation of racialized content on educational websites. Additionally, we consider the role of Creative Commons licensing in facilitating or hindering the dissemination of anti-racist resources online.
