Leveraging Generative AI and Chat Bots in Ill-Structured Regimes: A Novel Approach to Uncontested Learning

Potential Abstract: Ill-structured learning environments pose a significant challenge for educators aiming to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students. Traditional instructional methods often fall short in facilitating deep understanding and application of knowledge in such unstructured settings. In response to this challenge, this study explores the integration of generative AI and chat bots to support learning in ill-structured regimes. By leveraging the capabilities of generative AI to create dynamic, adaptable learning experiences and the communicative power of chat bots to facilitate personalized interactions, we aim to provide students with the tools and support necessary to navigate and excel in complex, uncontestable learning environments.

Our research is guided by the following research questions: How can generative AI be harnessed to create adaptive learning experiences in ill-structured learning environments? In what ways can chat bots enhance student engagement and support in uncontested learning regimes? To address these questions, we will conduct a series of experimental studies in educational settings, utilizing a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed intervention. By analyzing student performance, engagement levels, and qualitative feedback, we aim to gain insights into the potential of generative AI and chat bots to transform teaching and learning in ill-structured regimes.
