Potential Abstract: This study presents a descriptive analysis of the affordances of Web3 technologies within the context of education, focusing on the rhetorical implications of these affordances. Web3, the decentralized web enabled by blockchain technology, offers unique opportunities and challenges for educational practices. By applying a rhetorical lens to the examination of Web3 affordances, this research seeks to uncover the persuasive strategies embedded within these technologies and their potential impact on teaching and learning. Drawing on insights from both artificial intelligence and education research, this study aims to provide a nuanced understanding of how educators can leverage Web3 affordances to enhance instructional design, promote critical thinking, and foster digital literacy. Through a systematic analysis of Web3 tools and platforms, this research will contribute to the emerging discourse on the integration of decentralized technologies in educational settings.
