Potential Abstract: This study presents an empirical approach to examining the use of open texts within the metaverse for educational purposes. With the increasing integration of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies in education, exploring the potential of open texts within these immersive environments is crucial for understanding their impact on learning outcomes. Through a mixed-methods research design, we collected and analyzed data from students engaging with open texts in a virtual classroom setting. Our findings reveal the benefits and challenges associated with incorporating open texts in the metaverse, shedding light on their potential to enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and information literacy skills. Furthermore, this research contributes to the growing body of literature on digital literacy and the use of immersive technologies in education.
