In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, the integration of innovative technologies such as the metaverse has the potential to disrupt traditional educational practices and reshape learning environments. This study investigates the impact of disruptive innovation on educational networks, specifically focusing on the emergence of a metaverse standard. Through a mixed-methods approach, we analyze how educational institutions are adapting to the opportunities and challenges presented by the metaverse, and how these changes are influencing network dynamics within and across institutions. By examining case studies and conducting surveys with educators and administrators, we aim to provide insights into the strategies and best practices for leveraging the metaverse to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
