Potential Abstract:
This study investigates the political affordances of incorporating behavioral economics principles into educational practices, with a focus on the empirical examination of their application and potential impact. Drawing upon the intersection of political science, economics, and education, this research aims to shed light on the ways in which behavioral economic theories can inform and enhance educational policies and practices in a politically sensitive context.
The theoretical framework guiding this study is based on the concept of affordances, which refers to the potential actions and opportunities that a particular environment or system offers. By exploring the political affordances of behavioral economics in education, this research seeks to identify and analyze the ways in which these theories can be effectively applied to influence educational decision-making processes and outcomes.
This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative research methods, such as surveys and statistical analysis, with qualitative methods, such as interviews and case studies. The empirical analysis involves a comprehensive examination of educational policies and practices that have integrated behavioral economics principles, assessing their effectiveness and potential limitations. The praxis component of this research involves engaging with key stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, and students, to gather their perspectives on the feasibility and desirability of incorporating behavioral economics into educational contexts.
The findings of this study contribute to the existing literature by providing a nuanced understanding of the political affordances of behavioral economics in education. By examining empirical evidence and engaging with stakeholders, this research aims to inform policymakers and educators about the potential benefits and challenges associated with implementing behavioral economic strategies in educational settings. Furthermore, this study aims to provide practical recommendations for the design and implementation of evidence-based policies that enhance educational outcomes.
